Description

Description

The transfer chair for someone who cannot stand

Same chair as the Ergo 125 SP, minus the big rear wheels. Karma call the S-Ergo 125 “the classic model of the S-Ergo line” — this is the attendant-propelled version, 1.7kg lighter and narrower through a doorway.

The one thing it does better: it combines a proper all-day seat with a completely clear transfer side. Most transit chairs are travel chairs — thin seat, fixed arms, fine for an hour. This one has the full S-Ergo seating system and flip-up armrests, so a carer can slide someone across from bed to chair without lifting them over an armrest, and the person can then sit in it comfortably for the rest of the day.

Who it suits

  • Someone who cannot stand to transfer and needs a sideways slide
  • A user who will be in the chair for most of the day, not just a trip out
  • Carers and care homes — AEGIS-treated upholstery is built for shared use
  • Users up to 115kg

Standard features

  • S-Ergo Seating System — spreads load from the hip bone to the lower thigh instead of concentrating it
  • Flip-up armrests
  • Detachable, swing-away footrests, no tools needed
  • AEGIS Microbe Shield upholstery treatment — inhibits bacterial growth to control odour
  • Ergo Armpads, curved inward to match how forearms rest

VAT relief

Prices exclude VAT. Karma wheelchairs qualify for VAT relief under HMRC Notice 701/7 where the user is chronically sick or disabled, or a charity buys on their behalf. The declaration is completed at checkout.

Before you choose

If the user can push themselves on the flat, the Ergo 125 SP gives them that independence. If they stand to transfer rather than sliding, the S-Ergo 115 and its fixed armrests are the safer push-up point. If you only need a chair for trips out, the Ergo Lite 2 Transit is 3.7kg lighter to lift.

A free equipment assessment will measure the user and tell you which of those four it actually is.
