Sparrow 2 is Karma’s SOMA 215 Tall sold under its UK name. It is a light self-propelling chair built around one patented idea that sounds small until you have lived with a wheelchair.

The one thing it does better: the footrests swing fully clear for a transfer without detaching. Every other chair in this range solves the transfer problem by having you pull the footrests off — and then they get left in the hall, in the car, at the day centre, or in a hospital corridor. Karma’s own words: “Never lose a footrest again.” If you have ever paid for a replacement footrest, or turned a car round to go back for one, that is the whole argument.

Prices exclude VAT. Karma wheelchairs qualify for VAT relief under HMRC Notice 701/7 where the user is chronically sick or disabled, or a charity buys on their behalf. The declaration is completed at checkout.

Before you order

This model comes in one seat width and is the taller-seat version, so height matters more than usual here. If the user is under about 162cm their feet will not sit properly on the plates. A free equipment assessment takes ten minutes and rules that out. If you need 100kg-plus capacity, look at the Agile SP at 125kg.
